FLC Cycling Shriver Cross

The annual FLC Cycling Shriver Cross series is back with its fourth consecutive year. Shriver cross was developed to help the FLC cyling team and members of the community train for the US Cyclocross Nationals and to introduce cyclists to cyclocross. Now in it's fourth year it is going big and hosting the USCF Colorado State Championships on November 11th.

FLC SquawkerCross - USCF CO State CX Championships October 4, 2006Fort Lewis College in Durango hosts the Squawker Cross cyclocross extravaganza on Saturday, November 11, 2006. The Fort Lewis Cycling Team, the proud owners of the title of 10x Collegiate Cycling National Champions will host the USCF Colorado State Cyclocross Championships. There is a $5000 cash/prize purse up for grabs.The event follows a weekend of racing in Boulder, Colorado giving cross enthusiasts time to enjoy a drive to Durango with the spectacular scenery of the southwest. The course is very challenging, starting on the campus stadium track complete with barrier sections and a great mix of off-camber, grass and concrete terrain looping riders along the Fort Lewis Campus.Elite Men will race at 3:30 and women at 2:30. Online registration is available at Active.com and on-site registration will take place on race day from 9a-2p.Durango is home to more cycling stars than any town in the country with some of the stars scheduled to race in the Squawker cross including: Todd Wells, a 2004 Olympian and 2-time cyclocross champion, Tom Danielson of the Discovery Team, Shonny Vanlandingham, Ned Overend, Travis Brown and members of the Fort Lewis Cycling Team including up and coming riders: www.cycling.fortlewis.edu/cx
